Walk In The Sun is a tribute to the tones and moods that make up our lives. Celebrating the work of three VSCO creators, the exhibition features images edited with presets from the Walk In The Sun collection released in August.

Kennedi Carter — Sumac

A Durham, North Carolina native by way of Dallas, Texas, Kennedi Carter is a fine art photographer with a primary focus on Black subjects. Her work highlights the aesthetics of sociopolitical aspects of blackness, as well as the overlooked beauties of the black experience as a whole — skin, texture, trauma, peace, love, and community. Her work aims to reinvent notions of creativity and confidence in the realm of blackness.

Silas Vassar, III — Agave

Silas Vassar, III is an African-American visual artist and photographer born in Memphis, Tennessee. He is a 2011 graduate of the University of Memphis with a BA in Journalism. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Vassar's photography documents human form, fashion, and familiar places. His work is inspired by motion picture films and archival studies related to the human psyche. Working in both digital and film mediums, Vassar's portraits give life to obscure people and uninhabited spaces.

Anna Reid — Indigo

Anna Reid is a photographer based out of Sacramento, California. Her work is a love letter to the community she grew up in, drawing inspiration from the people and places she’s connected with. She creates eclectic portraits showcasing individual personalities, as well as urban settings frequently missed by the passersby. Photography has helped her romanticize the hometown she once grew bored of. Working in digital and film formats, she inspires others to look at their community from a different perspective.
